Women's Softball European Championship to open on September 1 in Utrecht, Netherlands

The top eight finishers of the previous edition will start from the Super Round. The other 14 participants will play the Opening Round split into four groups, with the winners advancing to the second round. The medal games are scheduled for Saturday, September 7.

Utrecht, the Netherlands, will host from September 1 to 7 the 22-team Women's Softball European Championship.

The top eight finishers of the previous edition will advance directly to the Super Round groups X and Y. Group X will include World No. 10 Czechia, No. 19 Germany, No. 6 and defending European Champion Netherlands while No. 13 Spain. No. 14 Great Britain, No. 29 Greece, No. 18 Israel, and No. 7 Italy will play in Group Y.

The other 14 participants will be split into four groups. No. 20 France, No. 42 Switzerland and No. 37 Denmark will compete in Group A. No. 23 Poland, No. 38 Belgium and No. 44 Malta will play in Group B. Group C will include No. 28 Slovakia, No. 25 Ukraine, No. 45 Finland and No. 51 Bulgaria. No. 24 Croatia, No. 26 Austria, No. 56 Sweden, and No. 47 Hungary will play in Group D. The winners of these four groups will join groups X and Y.

After completing groups X and Y, the top three finishers of each group will face each other to determine the teams competing in the medal games.

The third-place game and the final are scheduled for Saturday, September 7
