USA Baseball celebrates Sydney 2000 Gold Medal with Our Pastime’s Future Fund

The fund aims to enhance the annual support of USA Baseball through financial contributions. "This is an exciting day for USA Baseball," commented Executive Director and CEO Paul Seiler."

USA Baseball celebrated the Sydney 2000 Olympic gold medal 24th anniversary by launching Our Pastime’s Future Fund through the USA Baseball Foundation as a part of its mission to provide opportunities for future generations to play the game. Our Pastime’s Future Fund aims to enhance the annual support of USA Baseball through financial contributions.

On 27th September, 2000, USA beat Cuba 4-0 in a dramatic baseball final in front of 14,000 fans at the Sydney Baseball Stadium. It was the first time Cuba had not won the Olympic men's baseball gold medal.

As a nonprofit organization that receives no government funding, these financial contributions will allow USA Baseball, the national governing body for baseball, to continue to invest in the development of current and future athletes, coaches, and umpires across the nation.

"This is an exciting day for USA Baseball," said USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO Paul Seiler. "Our organization has made great strides in the amateur baseball landscape on and off the field, and the financial support of Our Pastime's Future Fund will help us take those critical next steps needed as we prepare for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing to elevate our great game to new heights while growing the game of baseball through financial support all year round."
