Over Twenty teams and over 300 youth Under-10 athletes, including boys and girls, are expected to participate in the annual U-10 Supercup — which is officially recognized and supported by the Czech Baseball Association, the Confederation of European Baseball and the City of Prague.

The U-10 Supercup youth event will be organised by the Prague-based “Institute for Baseball Development” from the 6-8 June 2014.

The Supercup is an “open tournament” aimed at development and growing awareness of the sport, and for the first time, the batters will have to hit controlled pitches from their own coaches, advancing from the previous Supercups where the ball was placed on a stationary ball-stand for the batter to strike.

An individual “skills” competition will also be organised to showcase and recognise the young athletes’ various talents in pitching, hitting, running and teamwork drills.

The 2013 Supercup (video), which included local clubs from the Czech RepublicBelarusRussia and Slovakia generated national TV news coverage in the Czech Republic.
