Neptunus Rotterdam sweep HCAW, win Holland Series

Neptunus Rotterdam swept HCAW Mr Cocker in the best-of-seven final to win the Holland Series 2024. It's the 20th Hoofdklasse title for Neptunus. Neptunus slugging outfielder Christian Diaz earned MVP honours with a .395 batting average.

Game 2 proved the turning point. Down 1-0 in the series and playing on home soil, HCAW took an early 2-0 league against former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Shairon Martis. Neptunus tied the game against National Team hurler Lars Huijer in the top of the seventh. Huijer left after 10 innings, and Neptunus won it on a one-out single by Sheadion Jamanika off Sedley Karel at the top of the 11th.

National Team star Tom De Blok won the rubber match. He went the distance despite allowing seven walks and limited HCAW to one run on one hit while striking out six. Shortstop Stijn Van der Meer batted in three of the five Rotterdam runs.
