Netherlands National Softball Team member Maxime Van Dalen agreed to play for Aguilas de Veracruz in the Mexican Softball League for the 2025 season, and will be the first European softballer to play in the Mexican league.
The lefty power hitter has participated in two WBSC Women's Softball World Cups, in Chiba 2018 and the two stages of the 2023/2024 World Cup, posting a career .259 batting average with three homers and 10 RBIs. She also represented her country at the Olympic Qualifier in 2019, hitting .429 with five RBIs, finishing in third place and just falling short of the Olympic qualification.
The Mexican Softball League had a successful inaugural league in 2024, setting attendance records in its first year. El Aguila de Veracruz advanced to the semifinals of the competition losing the series against Sultanes de Monterrey, ending with a Sultanes come-from-behind victory in Game 5 over El Aguila de Veracruz, 5-2.
Charros de Jalisco claimed the first-ever Mexican Softball League title, winning the Serie de la Reina in four games. Yeraldine Carrion was announced as the MVP of the season. She posted a 2-1 record in the final series, giving up 10 hits, five runs and 13 walks, while striking out 16 in 15.1 innings of work. She had a 2.83 ERA in the Finals.
