Hurricane Varese win Italian Blind Baseball League

Hurricane Varese defeated Leonessa Brescia in the final and succeeded the three-time defending champions Fortitudo Bologna White Sox.

Hurricane Varese defeated Leonessa Brescia, 5-4, in the final to claim the 2024 Italian Blind Baseball League (LIBCI) title.

Brescia scored two runs in the top of the second but couldn't hold the lead. Varese came back with two in the bottom of the second and added three runs in the bottom of the third to claim a lead they would not surrender.

Varese outhit Brescia, 12-10.

The city of Malnate (Varese province) hosted the championship game at the Adriano Gurian field. Mayor Nadia Cannito attended the event.

Hurricane Varese completed an outstanding run having won all 10 regular season games and defeated Lampi Milano in the semifinal.

Leonessa Brescia had eliminated the three-time defending champions Fortitudo Bologna White Sox in the semifinals.

The Italian Blind Baseball season will resume in September with the Italy Cup (Coppa Italia).
