The Artemisa and Havana Provinces qualified for the Cuban Youth Baseball5 National Championship at the end of the five-team West Zone qualification tournament.
Artemisa, the defending national champions, won the qualifier undefeated. They beat Havana twice in the round-robin stage, 4-0 and 5-4, and again in the final, 9-1.
Havana finished second with an overall 6-2 record.
Isla de la Juventud, Pinar del Rio (3-5) and Mayabeque (0-8) also participated. Isla de la Juventud defeated Pinar del Rio in the bronze medal game, 2-0.
Artemisa and Havana will compete with hosts Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba (East Zone), Camaguey and Sancti Spiritus (Central Zone) in the second Cuban Youth Baseball5 National Championship.
The tournament will happen after the WBSC Americas Youth Baseball5 World Cup Qualifier, scheduled for July in Venezuela.
