Chinese Taipei win U-18 Asian Baseball Championship, qualify for WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2025 along with Japan, Korea

Chinese Taipei pitcher Po-Chun Lin tossed 4.2 scoreless innings in the final, earning the win over Japan. He was named the MVP of the tournament.

World No. 5 Chinese Taipei claimed the U-18 Asian Baseball Championship after a 6-1 win over No. 1 Japan in the final of the competition. Both teams qualified for next year's WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup along with No. 4 Korea, who defeated No. 28 Philippines in the bronze medal game and secured the last available spot in the World Cup.

Japan took the lead in the bottom of the first inning, but Chinese Taipei scored six unanswered runs to clinch the title. Chinese Taipei pitcher Po-Chun Lin tossed 4.2 scoreless innings in the final, earning the win over Japan. He was named the MVP of the tournament. He pitched eight innings, giving up one unearned run and one walk while striking out seven. 

For the bronze medal, Korea defeated the Philippines, 8-0, and clinched the third spot in the World Cup.

Seven teams participated in the event, split into two groups. Chinese Taipei and Korea moved to the Super Round out from Group A, while Japan and Philippines advanced in Group B. Japan, Chinese Taipei and Korea finished the Super Round tied with a 2-1 record, but Japan and Chinese Taipei advanced to the Final due to the tie-break system.

No. 32 Hong Kong, China finished fifth, No. 42 Thailand sixth and No. 51 Sri Lanka was seventh.

Chinese Taipei, Japan and Korea join No. 4 USA, No. 8 Cuba, No. 9 Panama, No. 10 Puerto Rico, No. 13 Italy and No. 16 Germany as the qualified teams for the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2025.
