Hosts Canada announce WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group B roster

"We are all excited and ready to go for WBSC World Cup Group Stage,” stated Canadian Men’s National Team Head Coach John Stuart.

Softball Canada announced its roster for the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group B tournament, which will take place from July 10 to 14 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. 

"We are all excited and ready to go for WBSC World Cup Group Stage,” stated Canadian Men’s National Team Head Coach John Stuart. “Although some of our veterans are unavailable for this event, it is a great opportunity for our coaching staff to see some players wearing the maple leaf and representing Canada for the first time. Our goal remains the same as always, to compete for the top spot on the final day." 

The following athletes will represent Canada:

Currently ranked No. 3 in the WBSC/KONAMI Men's Softball World Ranking, Canada aims to build on their success after winning a silver medal at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup New Zealand 2022

The WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group B competition features world No. 1 Argentina, No. 3 Canada, No. 10 New Zealand, No. 11 Singapore, No. 16 Israel, and No. 24 Hong Kong, China. 

The Dominican Republic (No. 14) and Australia (No. 2) have already secured their spots in the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Finals 2025 following the conclusion of Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico last month, leaving six more spots up for grabs. The top two teams from each group stage, along with two wild cards, will qualify for the WBSC World Cup Finals 2025, to be held from July 8 to 13, also in Prince Albert. 

Group C will be played September 17-21 in Oklahoma City, USA.
