Dominican Republic slug past South Africa in Placement Round of WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup

The Dominican Republic scored 16 runs on six hits to claim an easy five-inning win over South Africa, 16-2, to close their participation in the tournament in seventh place.

Angel Nuñez collected five RBIs and scored three runs, while Wandy Asigen had three RBIs and scored twice, leading the Dominican lineup.

Ronny Herrera tossed four innings, giving up two hits and two runs, while striking out three. Justin Burgos retired the last three outs, two of them via strikes.

South Africa closed the tournament in the 11th place.
