Ella McDowell's power helps USA dominate Australia 10-0

Ella McDowell’s powerful hitting and a flawless team performance led the USA to a commanding 10-0 victory over Australia, maintaining their perfect record in the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup in Dallas.

USA’s WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup Group C game against Australia featured a dominant display by Ella McDowell, whose two-run homer highlighted a three-run inning, helping the USA to a 10-0 victory at The Village in Dallas, United States, on Friday.

The USA took control of the game early, scoring a run in the first inning thanks to a sac fly by Isabella Ruggiero after McLaine Hudson set the table with a bunt single and some aggressive baserunning.

In the second inning, the USA’s offence came alive with three runs on four hits, including a two-RBI single by McLaine Hudson, who battled through a 10-pitch at-bat. Payton Westra added another run with a single up the middle, extending the lead to 4-0.

A fielding error in the third inning opened the door for another three-run rally, capped off by a two-run double by Ryan Allen, pushing the lead to 7-0. McDowell then sealed the win in the fourth inning with a two-run homer, part of another three-run inning that brought the final score to 10-0.
