Baseball Australia is planning to hold its first-ever Baseball5 National Championship from 17 to 19 July 2020 and went creative when pitching potential locations.

Baseball Australia is planning to host its first-ever Baseball5 National Championship in July and is taking pretty seriously the #playeverywhere slogan that the new street version of baseball/softball offers.

The iconic Uluru (or Ayers Rock), the symbol of the Australian Outback, is one of the six locations that Baseball Australia indicated as potential "perfect spots" for the event.

Following an expression of interest from the Northern Territory Baseball Association, Baseball Australia said "there is potential that our first major event could be held in front of Uluru.

"At 348 metres high it towers over the landscape and generates a powerful presence. Uluru is also steeped in cultural significance worth learning about while you are there."

Expressions of interest to host the first-ever Australian Baseball5 Championships closed on Friday and the other five locations put forward by Baseball Australia as great venues to encourage potential hosting bids were Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Tha Lookout on Mt Coot, Brisbane, Perisher Ski Resort in the Snowy Mountains, Taronga Zoo, Sydney Glenelg Beach in Adelaide.

The first Australian Baseball5 National Championship is tentatively scheduled from 17 to 19 July.
