Baseball-softball leaders applaud milestone of WBSC's permanent HQ in Switzerland as social media reacts

National Federations and international sports organizations from around the globe congratulated baseball and softball's new global headquarters located in the heart of the Olympic Movement.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) reached another milestone on Monday, with the official inauguration of its new headquarters in Pully, Switzerland, just outside the Olympic capital, Lausanne. WBSC members from around the world used social media to congratulate the world governing body after the official ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach, who spoke positively about baseball and softball's new headquarters.

The Tanzania Baseball/Softball Association celebrated the new WBSC headquarters by tweeting: “Home of a Billion-Strong Community Game Lovers! It's Game Time!”

The Cuban Baseball Federation sent their congratulations and support for the Olympic campaign, "Congratulations to the WBSC on the new headquarters and for ratifying the Olympic aim of our sport."

Venezuelan Baseball Federation President Aracelis Leon also applauded the opening.

The Chilean Baseball Softball Federation, who are getting ready to host the baseball and softball competitions at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023, also joined the buzz with a congratulations tweet: “Congratulations Dear Friends!!!!...nothing [is like] a New Home!!!!”

The Spanish Baseball Softball Federation focused on the proximity with the Olympic Movement: “Another step aiming to becoming a permanent Olympic sport.”

The Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), where WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari serves as a Member of the Council, expressed its best wishes to the baseball-softball international federation for the opening of Home Plate, the new sustainable, environment-friendly house.
