WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group A live on GameTime; TV rights awarded in Mexico, Czechia & Nicaragua

Softball fans around the world will be able to watch the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group A, which runs from 12 to 16 June in Hermosillo, Mexico, through the WBSC-owned OTT subscription platform, GameTime. 

Megacable, one of Mexico’s largest telecommunications companies, has been granted the exclusive rights in the Mexican territory for the tournament, and is expected to reach millions of viewers through its channels TVC Deportes, TVC Deportes 2 and Megasports. 

In Czechia, the games of the European champions will be broadcast by Czech TV, while the entire tournament will go live in Nicaragua through Canal 4.

The XVIII WBSC Men's Softball World Cup is the first Men's Softball World Cup to be staged under the new two-stage system. A total of 18 teams have been split into three groups, with the top two teams in each group’s final standings advancing to the Finals, scheduled for 2025 in Prince Albert, Canada.

Each group consists of a four-day, 15-game round robin with the top four teams advancing to playoffs on the final day where the top two sides in the standings will play each other with a ticket to the Finals at stake. The loser of the first play-off game will then play against the winner of the game between third and fourth, for the second spot in the Finals.

All 19 games of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup will be live-streamed on GameTime, the main destination to watch all WBSC Baseball, Softball and Baseball5 World Cups. Four different subscriptions are available: Season Pass, Tournament Pass, Group Pass and Daily Pass. Fans can subscribe and purchase their packages at gametime.sport.

For US$74.99, fans will have access to every game of the WBSC World Cup season this year, including the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup Group A in Mexico. From 12 June, subscribers to the 2024 Season Pass will have full access to 303 Baseball, Softball and Baseball5 games, across 11 different WBSC events.

In addition, Tournament Pass subscribers will have full access to all three groups of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup: Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico; Group B in Prince Albert, Canada; and Group C in Oklahoma City, USA. With this premium subscription, fans can watch all 57 games of the group stage live and on demand across all devices, ad-free. The Tournament Pass is priced at US$37.99.

The third option is the Group Pass, which will give access to all 19 games of the Group A in Hermosillo, Mexico. The price is US$12.99.

Viewers will be able to watch WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup action for one day by obtaining a Daily Pass, covering all games scheduled on a single day. The one-day pass will be available for US$7.99.
